Kesher Guidelines

Last updated August 11, 2026Effective August 11, 2026Version 2.04 min read

Everything in one place: how Kesher Shield works, what we expect from creators and viewers, what is never allowed, how we keep accounts safe, and what happens when you report something. The full binding rules live in our Terms of Service.

1

Our values

Why Kesher exists and the standard every upload is measured against.

Torah-kosher, first and always

Kesher exists to strengthen Jewish life. Every video, Short, thumbnail, comment, channel image and ad must fit within Torah-kosher hashkafa.

Respect the person on the other side of the screen

Assume a real Jew — man, woman or child — is watching. Speak, dress and act as if they were sitting next to you at a Shabbos table.

Build, don't tear down

Disagreement is fine; lashon hara, mockery, pile-ons and personal attacks are not. Critique ideas, never people.

Kesher Shield rules

Your personal content filter and how it protects everything you see.

Five categories, your choice

During setup you pick one option in each of five categories — On-Screen Appearance, Modesty & Conduct, Language & Expression, Music & Performance, and Intense Content. Your choices are private and visible only to you.

Applies everywhere

Shield filters videos, Shorts, channels, profiles, thumbnails, comments, titles, descriptions, search, recommendations, notifications and ads. Content outside your standards never appears — not in feeds, not via direct links.

Everything is analysed first

Every video, Short, image, comment, challenge entry and ad is analysed by AI before it becomes visible. Unclassified content stays hidden until a real classification is written, and content is re-scanned in the background every week.

PIN protection

A 4–6 digit Shield PIN protects your standards. You need it to change any Shield choice or the PIN itself, and you can optionally require it to log out or delete your account. Changes are only saved after successful PIN verification.

Forgot your PIN

Kesher support can help you recover access. Contact us from the Contact page using the email on your account.

Community guidelines

How we expect everyone on Kesher to behave.

Modesty in dress and behaviour

Women wear long sleeves and skirts at least 3 cm below the knee. Men wear at least a shirt (exception: only in a body of water) with shorts or long pants.

Clean language

No cursing, no dirty words, and no otherwise-clean words used in a coarse way. If a Bubby wouldn't say it, don't upload it.

Be yourself

No impersonating other people, channels or organisations. No fake engagement, bought views, vote manipulation on challenges, or spam comments.

Comments and challenges

Comments, challenge entries and votes follow the same rules as videos. Entries must include a thumbnail or chosen video frame and stay within the challenge's stated theme.

4

Content restrictions

Content that is never permitted on Kesher.

Never allowed

Nudity or partial nudity, seductive, inciting or provocative imagery, women's singing in content or Shorts, graphic violence or terror, and anything sexual in nature.

Illegal and harmful

No content promoting crime, drugs, self-harm, hate against any group, dangerous stunts presented as entertainment, or scams and misleading financial claims.

Rights and privacy

Upload only what you own or have permission to use — including music, footage and images. Don't publish someone's private information or film people who asked not to be filmed.

Enforcement

Violations may lead to content removal, channel deletion, or an account ban. Repeated or severe violations may include a fine of $500 or more per our Terms.

5

Safety & account protection

Keeping your account, your family and your data safe.

Family-safe by default

Kesher has no anonymous browsing of unfiltered content. Shield settings, PIN protections and moderated challenges keep the platform safe for children sharing a device.

Protect your account

Never share your Shield PIN or sign-in link. Kesher staff will never ask for your PIN or password. Enable PIN-on-logout and PIN-on-delete for extra protection.

Your data

Your Shield choices, watch history and personal details are private. We don't sell your data — see the Privacy Policy for full detail.

6

Reporting process

What happens when you report content, step by step.

1. Report it

Use the Report button under any video, Short, comment or challenge entry, or email kesherstream@icloud.com. Include a link and a short description.

2. Review

Reports land in the Kesher admin queue. A human moderator reviews every report alongside the AI classification of the content.

3. Action

Content may be reclassified, hidden, removed, or the channel restricted. Repeat offenders are banned. We read every report.

4. Appeals

If your content was removed and you believe it was a mistake, reply from the Contact page with the link. A different moderator reviews appeals.

7

Common questions

Short answers to the things people ask most.

Why can't I see a video someone sent me?

It falls outside your Kesher Shield standards, or it hasn't been classified yet. Shield blocks direct links too — that's intentional.

Can I change my Shield settings later?

Yes, any time from the Security Centre. Press Save and confirm with your Shield PIN; you'll be returned to the homepage once verified.

How long do challenges run?

The applicant chooses the duration when submitting the challenge. Each challenge page shows the exact time remaining.
